Region 10 holds another successful Eighth Grade Exploratory Week |

Maine Vocational Region Ten, 68 Church Road, Brunswick, sponsored their annual Eighth Grade Exploratory, inviting all eighth graders from the sending communities: Brunswick Junior High, RSU 5 (Durham, Freeport, Pownal), and MSAD 75 (Bowdoinham, Bowdoin, Harpswell, Topsham). During Martin Luther King week eighth grade students spent a day at Region Ten, each visiting four programs. Maine Vocational Region Ten Skills USA Chapter has chosen the Brunswick Area Food Bank as their Community Service Project this year. Each month a different program is in charge of collecting non perishable and personal items to donate to the food bank. This month Chef Ellen Turcotte and her Food Trades students collected 70 items/71 lb. Auto Technology will provide goods for the month of December. |

New Firefighting Program at Region Ten... |

A new firefighting program is offered at MVR 10 for the 2009 school year, afternoon session only. Veteran firefighter and Bowdoinham resident David Lewis will instruct the program. Currently the program is operating with a waiting list, owing to high student demand. Upon completion of the course, students at age eighteen can become certified firefighters, employable with all public fire departments.
